This page covers infinitehaiku.com.
What the site records
We trace requests to our public pages (home, blog, docs) into our own
Poet, the same datastore we sell, like the rest of our servers’ own
telemetry. A recorded request holds:
- the method and route (for example
GET /blog),
- its timing and response status,
- the trace and span ids that tie its steps together.
It does not hold your IP address, your browser’s user agent or the
content of a page. Your address is kept only in memory, for per-minute
rate limits, and is not written to our Poet.
These records follow our Poet’s retention for its own telemetry, as do
all other traces of our servers.
The visitor cookie
The home page replays your own request as a waterfall. To show you your
request, and nobody else’s, the site sets one cookie:
| |
| Name | __Host-ih_home |
| Content | A random value, nothing about you |
| Lifetime | 15 minutes |
| Flags | HttpOnly, Secure, SameSite=Strict |
| Use | Lets your browser read back the requests it made |
A request can be read back for 5 minutes after it was made, and only by
the browser holding the cookie that made it. The cookie is not used for
advertising, profiling or tracking across sites.
No third parties
The public pages load only their own scripts and styles. There are no
third-party trackers, analytics or advertising scripts. Writing to us
is an email; no calendar or other service is embedded in our pages.
Our videos are a picture and a link until you press play. Only then does
the video load from YouTube, through its privacy-enhanced address
(youtube-nocookie.com); without a press, nothing is requested from
YouTube or Google.
If you have an account
To sign you in, we hold:
- your username and organisation,
- your password as a bcrypt hash,
- the tokens you create, with their scope,
- the session that keeps you signed in.
What we never receive
Your telemetry. Metrics, logs, traces and changes are written to the Poet
in your own infrastructure and travel from there directly to your
browser. They never pass through our servers. See Security.
